GOE;SS was founded by Sanbi and Badstar on April 16,2007. Both of them subbed DBSK videos on their own, for fun and to help fans understand DBSK. They both got together and decided to form an official fansubbing team for the Korean boyband, Dong Bang Shin Ki (DBSK). They named the team the Gods of the East Subbing Squad, now popularly known as GOE;SS.

GOE;SS is nearing its first year anniversary already, and since then the team has grown and is well-known in the foreign DBSK fanbase now. The team mainly provides subtitles for most DBSK videos but once in a while the team also takes on other projects from other Korean artists like Super Junior, Battle, Big Bang, etc.

GOE;SS' mission is to bring DBSK fans HQ subtitles so that we can all understand DBSK and share our love for them.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS:

Korean/Japanese Translators: In charge of translating DBSK/THSK's Korean/Japanese Videos. Korean/Japanese Translators should be both fluent in Korean/Japanese and English and can read written Korean/Japanese. He or she should be able to access Clubbox, Youtube, Veoh and download DBSK videos at any time.

Editors: In charge of correcting or rewording a translated script from a translator so that the dialogue is intelligible to viewers. Editors should be fluent in English with some basic knowledge of Korean/Japanese.

Timers: In charge of timing the translations to the RAW video and producing the softsubs.

Quality Checkers: In charge of checking all the parts of the fansub process before it is encoded. QCs must be able to do fine editing and adjust timing. Correct any mistakes before sending the final output to the encoder.

Encoders: In charge of adding or applying the soft subtitles in the RAW video, to make the subtitles appear permanently, otherwise known as hardsubbing. The encoder will also be in charge of typesetting, i.e. styling and screen positioning the text.
